Editorial policy
Trusted News Compass aims to make its explanations accurate, clear and open about uncertainty. Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to advance a partner's interests. We review published material and correct it when the record warrants a change.
Accuracy and evidence
We check factual statements against relevant source material and take care to distinguish direct evidence, reported claims and our own explanation. A link, quotation or image is not self-validating: we consider its origin, date and context where those details matter. We avoid stating uncertain information as settled fact.
Independence and interests
Editorial coverage is separate from commercial arrangements. Partnerships do not buy favourable conclusions or control our editorial judgments. Where a relevant interest could affect how a piece is understood, we disclose it clearly.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. Include the article title, the passage in question and any supporting material. We assess the concern and, when a correction is appropriate, update the text and explain the change in a clear note. Not every disagreement is an error, but each specific report deserves consideration.
Partner and sponsored material
Paid or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Labels are placed where the relationship is visible, and partner placements are identified as such. A commercial relationship does not imply editorial endorsement.
A headline is a starting point
News becomes easier to assess when we slow down, look at the underlying material and notice what remains uncertain.
