Write for us
Trusted News Compass welcomes pitches that help general readers understand how news is reported, checked, framed and placed in context. We are interested in clear explanations rather than hot takes, and in useful angles that do not depend on unsupported claims.
What to propose
Send a focused idea about reporting, sourcing, verification, context or media. A strong pitch names the question, explains the reader value and sketches the approach. Tell us what material or examples the piece would rely on, and flag any uncertainty or specialist input it would require.
What makes a good piece
We look for precise language, careful distinctions between evidence and opinion, and an argument that can be followed without specialist knowledge. Contributions should add a fresh explanation, avoid repeating familiar advice and make clear what readers can reasonably conclude.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option to send your pitch. Include a brief outline and relevant experience if it helps explain your approach; do not send confidential material or assume a proposal has been accepted before we reply.
A headline is a starting point
News becomes easier to assess when we slow down, look at the underlying material and notice what remains uncertain.
